A dramatic scene unfolded at Liverpool’s Liverpool Street Hospital after a dog had to be put down.
The ambulance was called to the scene of a woman who was injured after she was hit by a car on the M6.
Officers are treating the woman’s injuries as life-threatening and are treating her as a suspect.
The incident happened at about 12:40pm on Monday (local time) on the northbound M6 near the junction with King Street.
A number of people were at the scene and were rushed to the hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
A police spokesman said: “It appears to be a bizarre scene on the southbound M60.”
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries and the vehicle involved has been removed.
“A woman who lives nearby, who did not want to be named, said: “[The car] was really speeding and it was going very quickly.
“It’s very scary.
It’s quite terrifying.”
