Chicago Blackhawks to acquire forward Justin Fontaine from Ottawa

Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Stan Bowman said he will acquire forward Josh Fontaine on a three-year contract, according to a report.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Bowman will pay a salary of $2.65 million per season, which is $2 million less than what he was originally expected to receive for the forward.

Fontaine, 22, had seven goals and nine assists in 63 games with the Ottawa Senators this season.

Fontaine was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round (140th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
