‘The World Cup is the biggest challenge of my life’: Zlatan Ibrahimovic talks about the future of the game

Zlatani Ibrahimovic is adamant he is not considering a move to Manchester United, despite the club’s interest in him.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Asian Cup, Ibrahimovic said: “I am here for my country and I am here to win medals.”

The World Cups are the biggest challenges of my career.

I have been to the Euros three times and to the Olympics twice.

“But the world cup is the one that is the most important.”

It’s one that makes the whole team better and gives you confidence.

“If it wasn’t for the World Cup, I would not have been here.”

Zlatan will miss the Asian Championships due to his suspension for the tournament but has indicated he would still be interested in moving to Old Trafford.

“I don’t think I will be at Manchester United,” he said.

“No-one would have told me to say no to a club.”

So the World Cups give you an opportunity to play.

“We know how the game is played in Asia and in England and we want to win the World Series.”

When you win the title and the title in the next few years you can take your team to another World Cup.
